Smile-ologist and HealthTap founder, Ron Gutman has studied the relationship between your smile and quality of your life. In this compelling TED video, he discusses various
research studies that show a direct correlation between a big smile and a happy life. One study examines yearbook pictures and the students’ longevity, while another considers baseball players’ smiles and their performance. The good news? We’re smiling when we’re born, according to Ron’s research. It’s no surprise to most of us that smiling is a basic human characteristic that indicates joy and satisfaction. Did you know that more than a 1/3 of adults smile more than 20 times a day, while children smile as much as 400 times a day? Ron cites several studies that show how another person’s smile is much more effective than chocolate or money in bringing a smile to our own face. One smile, he says, can impact you as positively as several thousands of chocolate bars or dollar bills. So, Ron notes, our children are truly the richest beings on the planet.
Thanks Ron and Happy Passioneering!
